We are looking for folks who are interested in working on the farm in exchange for produce. Our Workshare Program is a nice alternative for someone who likes to play in the dirt but lacks the time, knowledge or resources necessary to commit themselves to planning, planting, weeding, growing and harvesting a full garden on their own. More information is available by clicking here. Plus, it's a great way to meet new people, gain experience and knowledge, participate in engaging discussions, and otherwise just have a lot of fun.
Spread the word!

About us: The Saberon family has been commercially growing produce in Star Valley for 4 years under the names Crow Creek Community Farm, EverGreen Farm, and most recently Fair Share Community Farm. Although our farm has had much success supplying fresh produce to area restaurants, grocery stores, and the Jackson Hole Farmer’s Market, our true fulfillment comes from farming for our community. With three exceptional community-farming seasons behind us, we have decided to continue our goals again under the name of EverGreen Farm and CSA. We are most proud of our CSA, building community through a local food network is our passion. We love farming and look forward to expanding our operation and vision while serving the community in which we live.
What is a CSA? EverGreen Farm is proud to operate under the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model. In its simplest form, this is an arrangement between a farmer and a consumer seeking fresh produce. Members receive weekly shares of fresh natural produce at a reasonable cost, and we receive an income to cover farm expenses and labor. Whether you support our farm through CSA membership, the farmer’s market, a specialty grocer, or gormet restaurant, you receive our personal commitment to provide you with a season’s worth of chemical free, naturally grown, nutritious produce that is beyond organic.
When is Our Food Available for CSA Members? With the use of greenhouses and other means, we plan to offer fresh, seasonal produce from about June 1st through October 31st. Our produce will be made available on a weekly basis at pick-up locations in the lower and upper ends of Star Valley and in Jackson Hole.
Why Should You Join our CSA? For most of us our taste buds can answer this one, but there are other important reasons to join a community farm. Community Supported Agriculture connects the family to the farm where their food is grown. Locally grown food tastes better, is healthier for you, better for the planet, and better for our communities. For many families, it is more satisfying to join a CSA rather than purchase food from a supermarket that is weeks old and has been transported hundreds if not thousands of miles to the store from where it is to be purchased. We encourage and welcome our community farm members to become involved with our farm by participating in work parties, taking a tour, coming to a harvest celebration, or bringing children out to see where their food is grown.
What are others saying?
More About EverGreen Farm and CSA: Thank you for your interest in our farm. We are strongly committed to our business and look forward to providing you with a steady variety of high quality, chemical-free, naturally grown, nutritious produce. We have chosen not to participate in the government’s organic certification program for ethical reasons; instead, we offer our personal pledge to practice farming methods we regard as beyond organic. EverGreen Farm operates under the Community Supported Agriculture model. With a CSA patrons pay a membership fee up-front, during the winter. This allows the farmer to carefully plan, purchase seeds and supplies, and make needed farm improvements. Membership fees, therefore, help the farm operate in the winter and spring before traditional farm income is available. Then once the growing season is under way, members receive weekly allotments of the farmer’s harvest. Both parties win. Farmers receive funding during an otherwise lean time of the year, and customers receive the freshest, naturally grown produce at an affordable price. Another CSA principle is that the farmer and the consumer share both the inherent bounty and/or risk associated with producing locally grown organic produce. We also are commited to providing the highest quality foods to the Jackson Hole Farmer’s Market, specialty grocers, and gourment restaurants. Diverse markets provides us a more sure economic foundation and better insures our CSA will continue in the future.
2007 Season Specifics: Our 2007 CSA season will begin near June 1st and end near October 31st, approximately 22 weeks. We are offering 40 memberships this season . Please sign up ASAP to guarantee your place in our CSA. Cost per share is $525. Our intention is for a “share” to be what a medium sized family might consume, keeping outside vegetable purchases to a minimum. A share might also be appropriate for two adults who eat a lot of vegetables. A share may be split. However, arrangements such as how to divide the cost and how to share the produce are to be made directly between interested parties. A minimum payment of $125 will reserve your membership, if one of the first 40 received. The remaining payment is due by May 1, 2007. An initial payment for the full $525 is welcome. After May 1, 2006, the membership fee will increase to $575. Membership fees are non-refundable; however, with prior approval, they may be transferable. Pick-up dates, times, and locations are yet to be finalized; however, we plan on having pick-up locations in Smoot, Afton, the Lower end of Star Valley, and in Jackson Hole. Members are responsible for picking up their produce from a designated pick-up location. The handling of any “leftover” produce will be left to our discretion.
As an alternative to paying for an EverGreen Farm CSA membership, please consider joining our Workshare Program. A “Workshare” is someone who is willing to work for our CSA in exchange for produce. If you are interested, please contact us directly for more information.
